PROJEKT ARKA

With children and young people in mind

Mission and Goals

We are a foundation—a public benefit organization established by us to help young people in crisis. The foundation was created with the idea of supporting children and youth with addiction problems and other mental disorders. However, until we organize a school and navigate the numerous formalities involved, we are currently assisting those in the greatest need by providing aid to war refugees from Ukraine.
We have purchased a large building along with a sizable plot of land in Wojciechów, near Lublin. In there we are establishing a residential treatment and rehabilitation center with the capacity to accommodate approximately 25 people
aged 13-17, as well as a school. The core idea behind the center's operation is to combine two goals: addiction treatment and education for this group of young people. We have successfully
invited a team of experienced therapists to collaborate with us, including psychotherapists, educators, rehabilitation specialists, addiction specialists and teachers.

Thousands of young people in Poland are addicted to alcohol, drugs, and other psychoactive substances. The problem of addiction to electronics (e-addictions) is also growing, partly as a result of the recurring COVID-19 epidemics. Addiction in youth develops much faster than in adults and destroys individuals, families, and the entire society in biological, psychological, and social terms.
We are aware that there are far too few places like our center in Wojciechów compared to the growing needs, the number of addicted children and youth requiring professionally organized facilities that simultaneously provide education and treatment in a residential, long-term, and, importantly, non-commercial form.

Location

We have a large residential building in Wojciechów, near Lublin.
We have a large residential building in Wojciechów, near Lublin. The house is surrounded by an extensive green, wooded area of 0.7 hectares, featuring a small garden, orchard, and planned sports field and physical activity spaces. The building is intended to accommodate 20-25 people and is fully equipped and adapted for long-term stays for young people. Next to the residential building, finishing works are currently underway on the
school being built.

Based on the Ark Project Foundation, we are organizing:

  1. Niepubliczny Młodzieżowy Ośrodek Socjoterapii „ARKA WOJCIECHÓW” w Wojciechowie
  2. Niepubliczne Liceum Ogólnokształcące Specjalne w Wojciechowie
  3. Zakład leczniczy – ośrodek rehabilitacyjno-readaptacyjny

The center will accommodate 20-25 people aged 13-17 (high school level) at one time. Therapeutic sessions will be held in rooms on the ground floor of the main building. Educational classes will be conducted in small groups, with a maximum of a few students, in the school building being constructed nearby.

Our Friends

From the beginning of our operations, i.e., from the first day of the war in Ukraine, we reached out in various ways to our friends and strangers, social organizations, and companies for help in our endeavor. We received significant financial and material assistance from various sources. The donors included people of goodwill from both Poland and abroad, non- governmental organizations, and companies. It is impossible to list all the donors here, but some of them include:

Rotary International has distinguished itself with immense generosity and dedication from the very beginning. It should be emphasized that Rotary International consistently supports our initiative and recently donated a significant sum for the renovation of the future school's building.
